I have been an electrologist for over 30 years. I was hired in 1971 by Kree International, a New York based chain, as the electrologist at Jacobson's Beauty Salon in Ann Arbor, Michigan where I remained for 10 years. After a few years, I was given the title "Junior Executive." This wonderful title, of which I was so proud--at least for a week or so-- became something of a license to play ombudsman, intervening in unpleasant disputes between electrologists at other salons and their managers. After 10 years at Jacobson's, I opened my own practice and have been in private practice ever since. I truly did miss my co-workers at Jacobson's as well as my employers at both Jacobson's and Kree but it was time to move on. With over 30 years experience, I have helped thousands of clients, both female and male, accomplish their goal of being free of unwanted facial and body hair. My philosophy is to not look at unwanted hair growth as a "problem" so much as an annoyance. Even the coarsest type of hair growth can be conquered with proper treatment by the electrologist and dedication on the part of the client. In fact, heavy, coarse hair is often more quickly destroyed than soft, fine hair. Unfortunately, some people with unwanted hair growth see themselves as "disfigured." As absurd as this conclusion is, it often even prevents them from seeking help. They are embarrassed to even be seen by a professional for fear of hearing,"Wow! I've never seen anything like this before!" Trust me on this one: as professional, experienced electrologists, we've seen it all.
In short, I want you to keep this in mind; when you come to my office you are here for one reason: Removal of unwanted hair growth. Working together, we will be successful in getting rid of it permanently.
